Metallography Laboratory (E427): It performs evaluation and documentation of pre-prepared samples of steel, cast iron, and non-ferrous metals. The evaluation of samples is performed using a LEXT™ OLS 5000 3D laser confocal scanning microscope, an Olympus GX51 microscope, an Olympus SZX7 microscope, and a Neophot 21 metallographic microscope. For further evaluation of properties, the laboratory is equipped with a hardness tester (HV and HB), a Hanemann microhardness tester (HV0.1–HV0.001), an endoscope, and a thermal imaging camera. All these instruments are used in the comprehensive analysis of changes in metallic materials and assist in the evaluation of structural conditions, micro-cleanliness of materials, internal defects, determination of heat treatment conditions, evaluation of surface quality, fractures, corrosion, and internal defects in products and materials.
