The department has currently engaged in many research projects granted by Czech Science Foundation, Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports, European Union. Their topics are aimed especially at:

  • combustion and environment
  • minimizing of pollutants emission from energy sources
  • economic and technical assessment of cogeneration units
  • combined fuels combustion
  • research in alternative sorbents
  • fuels utilization of wastewater treatment sewage
  • development of new sources of energy

Project aims to investigate the accumulation of electric energy using a pumped-storage hydroelectric power plant (P-SHEPP) with floating tanks without the need for elevated reservoirs. Other aims of project: -realization of construction, testing and pilot-plant of a laboratory model of a P-SHEPP, followed by a pilot-plant model -preparation of a patent, utility model and industrial design -compilation of a set of recommendations for the design, construction and operation of such power plant prototypes The purpose of project is: -to increase the quantity of accumulated el. energy -to balance the disproportions in the consumption and generation of el. energy -to reduce the transfers of el. energy -to increase energy self-sufficiency and security -to decrease the generation of el. energy
