The Association of Historic & Classic Vehicles Clubs (AKHV) is an independent association whose primary objective in the Czech Republic is to bring together clubs of historic vehicle owners and to cooperate with state institutions in the development of legislation aimed at ensuring the safe operation of historic vehicles on public roads. The organization currently brings together more than 30 historic vehicle clubs with over 2,000 members and organizes various events and training activities related to historic vehicle testing and preservation. AKHV is also an official national member of Fédération Internationale des Véhicules Anciens (FIVA – the International Federation of Historic Vehicles) and cooperates in this area with other FIVA members from the Czech Republic.
We are therefore pleased and consider it a recognition of our work that we were able to present the goals, activities, and a number of achievements of the Restoration Workshop at the Department of Machine and Industrial Design, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, VSB–TUO during the AKHV General Assembly held on 10 January 2026 in Pardubice.
The presentation was delivered by Bc. Daniel Škop, a first-year student of the follow-up Master’s degree programme Mechanical Engineering Design, specialization S03 Technical Diagnostics, Repairs and Maintenance. It must be said that he fulfilled this task with distinction, drawing in his presentation on extensive experience gained both through his strong involvement in the activities of the Restoration Workshop and through work on his own renovation and restoration projects.
