Summary
The use of parametric excitation for damping of mechanical structure vibration is still a subject of the theoretical research while implementation such systems in machines are missing yet. Under the grant project GACR 101/07/1345 "Active control of journal bearings aimed at suppressing the rotor instability" a significant extension of the working rotational speed of the journal bearings by adding an electronic feed-back has been achieved. The new research project is focus on controlling the stiffness of the bushing support is changed in time. Movable bearing housing will be placed on two piezoactuators and the bushing position will be measured. The gain feedback will be changed so that the stiffness of the bushing support in housing has become a control variable. Research parameters such bearing will be used a mathematical simulation and experiments on the test stand, which was created as part of the previous project. This approach is different from classical active vibration control using a feedback control system.
