Summary
Recent advancements in additive manufacturing have facilitated the production of metal matrix composites with customized properties. However, current literature lacks comprehensive studies on the effect of micro- and nano-sized Al2O3 reinforcement particles on the deformability of such composites when subjected to non-conventional severe plastc deformation methods, including Equal Channel Angular Prtessing (ECAP) and Dual Rolling Equal Channel Extrusion (DRECE). This project seeks to address this knowledge gap through systematic experimental investigation. The primary objective of this research is to evaluate the deformability and microstructural evolution of an Al-Mg-Si matrix composite reinforced with Aů2O3 micro- and nanoparticles, fabricated via 3D printing and subsequently deformed using ECAP and DRECE techniques.
