Summary
The aim of the project is the development of gearboxes using digital twins and the use of artificial intelligence methods to enable efficient development for the specific requirements of individual gearbox variants. The project covers a wide range of gearboxes with specific power transmission requirements, where a high emphasis is placed on housing rigidity. Emphasis will be placed on reducing the weight of these components while maintaining requirements for their mechanical properties, reduction of vibration and associated noise generation, electrical insulation properties, etc. This objective will be achieved by the application of composite materials with long fibre reinforcement. The proposed project aims to be cost competitive with contemporary approaches while enhancing the performance including online monitoring capability.
